1930s Crepe dress & jacket set
A chic and demure late 1930s dress set in dusky pink crepe, comprised of short sleeved midi length frock and open fronted waist length jacket, with adorable ‘Feminet Model’ label. The dress features high neckline with shallow cowl, gathered yoke detail, and lovely gathered sleeve shaping. Fastening to back neck with covered button and hook/handworked loop ‘eyes’, with pop studs to side opening, and tie back belt. Skirt is gored in panels for a nice fulness, and the piece is unlined. Jacket is unfitted, with 3/4 length sleeve and shoulders shaped with darting and little pads.
12.5” between shoulder seams
Chest 32”, maybe 33
Waist 26”, easily drawn in a few inches using waist ties if needed
Hip should be under 38” for skirt to fit as intended
42” mid shoulder to hem
Jacket 16.5” mid shoulder to hem
21” sleeve length
We conducted a lot of professional restoration work on these pieces (an example of reconstruction attached!) leaving them in fantastic condition. Have been meticulously hand washed and pressed. The fabric has a kind of pale grey effect running through it, we haven’t determined whether this is intentional- probably not- but it is an allover refinishing if not, so not particularly discernible! A tiny hole at front shoulder of jacket, one or two very slight pulls, and v pale mark to skirt.
