1970s Jean Varon harlequin blouse - Small Medium
Truly stunning, dramatic, and wonderful. THE definitive 'Jean Varon' from designer John Bates, right up there with his spiderweb dress in my opinion. A shockingly good 1970s blouse in light faux silk, brilliantly printed with geometrics and 'harlequin' shapes in burnt orange/navy blue/slate against beige. Bold zigzags, concentric circles, and checkerboards oh my! Loosely fitted to a rigid waist, with peplum below, it fastens with covered buttons and features fabulous deep pointed collar. The sleeves, ever a Bates trademark, are absolutely huge and billowing, gathered to elasticated wrist.
Waist of garment 28"
Chest is difficult to measure due to depth of sleeve, but I would estimate best fit around 34-6"
16" mid shoulder to waist, 22.5" total length to hem
Presents excellently, a few of the buttons are slightly depressed, and there is a well done darn to sleeve as pictured. Hook/eye fastening at waistline a little tarnished
