1950s Skirted printed cotton swimsuit - Medium Large

A stunning 1950s swimsuit from ‘Brettles’ label, in cotton sateen printed with gorgeous florals in unusual colourway of coral orange-pink and rich greens. With low back and adjustable button straps, the entire back is elasticated with shirring, and briefs are skirted in double layer of self, and plain coral, cottons. A subtle but work intensive* detail of this piece is that the front seam between body and skirt is scalloped- a mark indicative of the quality of this label!

In excellent condition after we professionally reshirred the elastic, and reinstated the scallop seam from bodged alteration (*so we know this to be true!). Freshly laundered. A quirk of vintage remains, in that someone has written a price in biro on the bust lining; 20p! I wish!
