1950s Silk satin pompom hem performance dress - Small
A gorgeous 1950s dress, originally a dance costume/stage/carnival wear but absolutely fine for party dressing, and made with care and attention. In lovely quality silk satin striped in sugar pink and black, with sweetheart neckline trimmed with satin ribbon box-plreated by hand. Fabric is backed with cotton, boned in the bodice, and with pelon lining to the back of the skirt for structure. Skirt is pleated, trimmed with satin braid, and finished with satin pom poms! Fastening with dainty back metal zip, all seams hand finished inside, and trims hand applied. Someone spent a long time on this darling piece!
Chest of garment 35
8 2/8” centre front to waist not including trim
Skirt 24, some hem as pictured but can’t guarantee how it’ll look let down
Excellent structural condition, a little v gradual fade to the vibrancy of pink towards the side as pictured, not noticeable when worn. Minor use dotted around like the odd light snag, and a small scrub hole to back waist but no biggie. Four pompoms have a fluffy texture compared to the satin finish of the rest, not seen at all when worn.
