1950s Horrockses bow waist orange floral dress - Extra X small
A gorgeous piece from the highly collectible label, in typically lovely crisp white cotton printed with bands of florals in spicy oranges, and charcoal stripe. Fitted bodice with underbust gathering, ruched midriff, and orange cotton tape straps. Full gathered skirt, with long waist tie detail able to be drawn up into a bow. This is a small size, but if you have a good seamstress they could possibly use some of the fabric from this tie to set into the sides?
Chest up to 30” tight. The bodice is lined but holding it up to the light I can see that there is no seam allowance
Waist 22- 23 tight
16.5” mid shoulder to waist
Skirt just over 23” with an inch or so hem available
Excellent condition, The straps have been secured/stitched by hand to the front (machine into the bodice at the back) which a few visible stitches looking inside the bodice. V small fray at bodice edge which isn’t noticeable when worn. Faint discolouration to skirt which is lost when worn!
