A chic 1950s day suit in a lovely quality cocoa brown light linen, from ‘Syd’ label (“Dressy Casual”!). Skirt is straight, with back vent, and side metal zip to fasten. Jacket/shacket is a loose fit to bodice, with 3/4 length dolman sleeve, and little gathers to back with peplum below. Fastening with large domed Galalith buttons, it features ‘strap’ detail to peplum, and wonderful adjustable collar with the checked layer unbuttoning to reveal plain brown asymmetric style beneath. As a bit of fun, the buttons which fasten this are bakelite! Both articles unlined so great for the warmer months.
Waist of skirt 24” comfortably to 25” tight
37” hip of garment
Length 27.5” not including waistband,
Chest of Jacket 38” including curve of dolman, fit approx 34” or under worn more blouson
Waist of jacket is just under 26”
16” mid shoulder to waistline
Fabulous structural condition, with nothing noticeable when worn. A small faint discolouration to front skirt as pictured, and the jacket’s underarms have some tonal change. This is mostly lost when worn due to the sheen of the linen and position in the volume of fabric there!
