1940s Housecoat or wrap dress - Extra large
Tax included.
A gorgeous 1940s housecoat (you could definitely wear as a dress!) in woven rayon, printed with stylised swirls of chocolate brown against duckegg blue. Wrap style, with attached belt passing through an opening to the side and tying as desired. With cuffed 3/4 length sleeves, and wonderful wide rounded collar, it features a hidden POCKET! There has been a label cut from the back neck at some point, I suspect it might be a cc41/double elevens utility piece but now no way of confirming this.
15.5” between shoulder seams
Chest of garment 45”
Waist 34” , can be let out a little here with the belt
Hip 54”
Mid shoulder to waist 17”
Skirt length is just under 29”
Presents very well after we professionally reversed some bad alterations (no evidence of this remains!). A few v small darns to the skirt, mainly towards bottom half, including one to hip and front side as pictured. The busy print and texture of surface go some way to concealing these. A couple of pale discolourations to skirt which again are almost lost when worn.
