1930s Ivory silk hand embroidered & smocked peasant folk style blouse
An exquisite 1930s peasant style blouse in ivory silk, unfitted, with full back popper fastening covered with pother of pearl buttons on the outer. Beautifully hand embroidered and smocked in silk threads to the squared neckline, and cuffs. With flat waist panel, sleeves are nicely billowy and gathered!
Measurements are of the actual garment, please note the shoulder are fairly narrow compared to the chest/waist as designed to be worn loose. I would estimate sizing at around a Small-
14.5" between shoulder 'seams'
17.5" mid shoulder to waist + 2" waistband
Presents excellently, there's a v small darn at the chest, thin line mark and pinhead hole which are lost when worn. The waistband, although in the same fabric, appears to be unoriginal as has been machine stitched with less attention than the body. Not noticeable when on! Tiny tiny pull near to one fastening, and area of discolouration to inside of waistband.
