1940s Princess coat - Extra small
Tax included.
A gorgeous & statuesque early 1940s coat in high quality black wool, from ‘Hatchers’ label, a department store in Somerset established 1898 and still going strong. Fitted and gored in panels for princess cut fulness, with double breasted button fastening in the waist, and structured wide collar trimmed in what I believe to be soft spotted goat. Bound pockets to either side, with shoulderpads, and cream lining.
16” between shoulder seams
Chest of garment 35”
Hip 44
Mid shoulder to hem 46”
22” sleeve length from shoulder
Presents excellently, no nibbles or damage at all to outer. The lining has some general light discolouration and wrinkling but nothing that affects outer. Looking inside the hem it appears it has been refinished with crepe binding, negligible. Shoulder pads a little lumpy if I’m being picky but not noticeable on!
