1970s Soviet 'Superbowl' print dress - Medium
Such fun, a 1970s cotton dress likely intended as ‘chore’ or housedress but perfectly acceptable as regular daywear by today’s standards! In vibrant aqua green, with SUPERBOWL print of player in action, against USA stars. There has been speculation that this is a commemorative print for the 1976 bicentennial celebration as that is the jersey number depicted, however a faded label in the side seam indicates Russian manufacture, so could be a just case of a popular cultural motif of the ‘Western World’ being used. Unfitted, with matching tie belt to draw in the waist as desired, and full front button fastening. Edges are trimmed with baby pink cotton binding, and the piece has handy front pockets.
38” garment chest
Waist 36”, tying in with the belt as needed
Hip 46”
Mid shoulder to hem 40.5”
Great condition overall, a linear mark as pictured to one side which is somewhat concealed by the busy print!
