1970s Gold & black platform wedges - 4

Absolutely gorgeous original 1970s wedge platform shoes from ’The John Smith Collection’, which I’m afraid, either due to his popular name or unprolific output, I have not been able to research anything on! Which chunky platform covered in black flocked faux-suede, and what I like to call “ribcage” strap vamps in faux snakeskin, in the same shiny warm hue that details the back wedge. Fastening with daintily buckled ankle strap, the innersoles are bound with grosgrain/petersham edging, and they are marked a size 5 however are more like a modern uk  4, please check measurements to be sure;

approx 2.5” across innersole at widest

4 7/8” heel height

Present excellently, some scattered wear to surface of ‘snakeskin’ uppers, a few scuffs to back of heel. Minor lifting of thin upper innersole at toe, a little of original adhesive just visible. This pair are missing their original branded sticker at innersole, pictured identical red pair retain theirs, so I am confident of the maker.
