1960s Wide leg printed jumpsuit - Extra small XXS
A STUNNING late 1960s jumpsuit in taffeta-lined chiffon, bright turquoise to body and (unlined) sheer sleeve, and printed with busy purple psychedelics to the leg. Legs are voluminous and wide, with pleat tuck to front and back where they meet the lilac velvet ribbon band. Ruffles finish the high neck, and front detail, which is dotted with lilac velvet covered buttons. Back zip to fasten (too small for the mannequin but the zip does do all the way up), no maker’s label remains, but the piece is commercially made.
11” Mid shoulder to ‘waist’ which is short so more of an empire line bodice*
13.5” between shoulder seams
Chest 32”
*27” around at this point
53.5” mid shoulder to hem
48” around leg hem
Sleeves 24” from shoulder including ruffle trim
It appears, in the height of sophistication of the time, that someone has dropped a little ash on the front body as pictured, leaving small almost-holes to the surface. A purple floral corsage wouldn’t look wholly out of place if you needed to cover it? Other than that I can’t see any other wear aside from a touch of makeup
