Stylish 1940s jacket in versatile deep charcoal grey shade, in what feels like a very fine wool or rayon mix? Lightweight but substantial, with shoulder padding and lined in black crepe. With contrast paler grey neckline detail, and built up back neck, it fastens with moulded glass buttons and bound buttonholes. Bound pockets and fold-back pointed cuffs finish the piece, with a decorative detail at chest which can be accented with your choice of brooch or pin (bakelite not included). No labels remain but it is high quality construction and I don’t believe home made.
16” between shoulder seams
Chest of garment 39” tight
Waist 31”
Mid shoulder to hem 21”
Sleeve length just over 22”
Presents excellently, none of the following condition issues are noticeable when worn; as pictured there is a small area of gentle parting to the fibres at one shoulder/neck, minor fray to fabric at back body/sleeve seam which has been secured with professional fabric adhesive, and a v small hole near back dart. Fresh and ready to wear!
