1940s Sheer embroidered blouse - Large (XL)

A glorious black 1940s sheer silk blouse, semi fitted with dainty darts, and fastening with faceted glass buttons. The front is embroidered with ornate pretty florals, and the small collar with checks of machine stitching. Lovely wide sleeve, which fastens at the flat cuff*.

27” sleeve length from shoulder, *designed to ‘billow’ a little at this length when brought up into the wrist to fasten

Presents well, a small hole to back neck likely from a previous tag (not mine!), and a small darn to back shoulder, and left breast- it’s position here would be hidden if wearing a black undergarment, I think. Looks like a cuff button has been moved leaving a scrub there, and it seems the buttonholes have been made a little smaller with hand stitching which is negligible. (What looks like hand stitched mends at the shoulders are actually short darts, not damage!) Replacement button at one cuff
