TWO pieces of darling 1930s wardrobe! A stunningly lovely dress in semi sheer shell pink rayon, embroidered with posies of dainty blue & coral florals, and matching satin slip with embroidered rayon ruffle hem to just peek below that of the dress. Neither fit on my mannequin so have been pinned to the front
Dress- Flattering wider neckline trimmed with ruffle, puffed short sleeve, and gently gathered bust to flat midriff. Skirt is full length and gathered for fulness, with side opening fastening with both pop studs and hook/eyes. We undertook some detailed restoration on this set, including reinstating these fastenings using our signature embroidery stitches!
Chest pulls out to 36” tight, however not meant to be fitted at all
Waist up to 26”, again shouldn’t be too tight
Mid shoulder to waist 16”
Skirt 46”
Slip- A lightweight satin, with V front waist seam, side fastenings, and double ribbon strap detail to shoulder. Lightly gathered skirt is a little longer than the dress, to cause the hem to peek from below.
Chest 34”
Waist 27
Mid shoulder to hem 56”
Presents excellently, with no noticeable use. Dress has a small hole to skirt which largely gets lost in the fulness and drape, very minor area of discolouration to inside neck binding (camera could barely pick this up), and the odd v small faint blemish. Slip has a few scratches to surface, odd v small pin hole, and a small scrub at bust. Our in-house seamstress re cut a panel at the side which was totally trashed, replacing with a pink satin that matches the slightly different shade of fabric at the central neck panel.
