1930s Cord holiday jacket - Xs / Small
Lovely soft cotton jumbo cord jacket from ‘It’s a Diamond’ label, which I’m dating to late 1930s-early 40s from online research and other examples of loungewear from this brand. Very ‘Riviera’ beachwear style and would fit in with earlier ‘30s wardrobe pieces also. In pure white, I imagine this would have been part of a set with wide leg matching pants, but would work with shorts also or a straight skirt! Only gently fitted, with open cuffed sleeve, and front wrapping over to form asymmetric fastening but PLEASE NOTE - buttons are decorational, with no actual fastening at present. It’s a quick job to add a popstud or two, but I’m leaving this to the buyer as there is some scope for positioning, you could also have the front edge more central as pictured on the mannequin without looking ‘off’. Measurements are given with the front an asymmetric fit, so can accommodate larger if worn straight:
14.5” between shoulder seams
Chest of garment 34”
Waist 30
Hip 39
Mid shoulder to hem 25”
21.5” sleeve length from shoulder
Excellent condition, sleeve cuffs look to have been stitched to be narrower at some point and then this alteration reversed. The odd tiny blemish visible to the inside, but for a pure white garment there is only the slightest gentle colourchange in places which isn’t noticeable when worn.
