1920s Cotton day dress - Extra small Small

A great 1920s day dress, quite a rarity to find such an accessible ‘wearable’ piece, in light slate blue cotton woven with crosshatch check in white and orange. A typical unfitted cut, with drop waist and back tie, no fastenings so slips over the head- bear this in mind with measurements below. With long sleeve and small pointed collar, the neck is detailed with the brightest orange celluloid buttons, and fastens with popstud. Skirt is pleated, with small peplum detail and faux envelope pockets highlighted in orange cotton. An orange cotton tie finishes the front. The piece has been commercially made, and was likely an affordable option for everyday wear, perhaps made available through catalogue sale.

Fabulous condition, the only wear being very slight pulling at neckline opening which isn’t seen at all when worn, and minor colour fade at shoulder as pictured.
