A wonderful 1970s does ‘30s dress in a slinky silk, with print of tied bows in magenta pink, olive green, and grey against oatmeal. Loose blouson bodice, with shirred elasticated waist and gathered skirt, it features double layered fluted sleeve and tie bow at the neck. The label has been cut out, but it’s reminiscent of Radley/Miss Mouse et al designs from this time! The piece has been washed causing some colour transfer*, and I somewhat suspect this may have been a desirable label which an unscrupulous previous owner removed to instate in another garment…

Chest of garment approx 38” however meant to be loose here, unpinned on the mannequin at 33”

Waist unstretched 26” to 30”

Mid shoulder to waist 16”, bear in mind this is worn blouson so intended to billow slightly

26” skirt

*the pink has imprinted onto other areas of the dressing causing ‘ghost’ repetitions dotted around, which I actually don’t mind so much. Fine structural condition, 2” of slackened elastic at one side of the waist which isn’t noticeable on and covered by tie belt, all other elastic still sound. The neckline has some dainty hand stitching instead of machine which isn’t noticeable when worn. Discolouration to underarms, worst side pictured, which is covered by the fulness of the sleeves, and the piece has been dry cleaned so fresh to wear!
