A stunning 1950s sundress from 'Atrima', a youth diffusion line of the wholesale couture label Rima London. There are many couture techniques here, starting with inner construction of the bodice which is in ivory taffeta (as is the skirt), and finished with bias bound neckline and boning encased in cotton tape. A petersham waistband secures the inner waist, and the piece fastens with metal zip. The outer fabric is a gorgeous lemon yellow/grey/white cotton with perforated finish, in diagonal stripes which overlap in areas to create a lovely chartreuse colour. More incredibly work-intensive details finish the bodice, where a trio of grey silk crepe-de-chine straps are sunk into the tiers of pleating. This pleat detail continues to the dipped back line, where it is 'plaited'. Belt not included, shown with petticoat not included

Chest 32"

Waist 24"

Mid shoulder to waist 16", Skirt 26"

Almost immaculate condition. A tiny snag to edge of the zip cover, some gentle tonal discolouration to the straps as pictured, and minor (unpatchy!) discolouration to inner bodice, although carefully soaked so clean and ready to wear!
