1940s 50s Seersucker dress - Small
Tax included.
A smashing late 1940s-early 50s summer day dress, in pastel aqua green cotton seersucker, printed with stylised florals in deep pink/black/blue. Bodice is unfitted, with and short cuffed sleeve cut in one with the body, and cream Galalith plastic buttons to fasten. Skirt is full, with side metal zip.
Chest of garment approx 40” however this includes some of the curve of the underarm as there is no defined ‘seam’
Waist of garment 28”
Mid shoulder to waist 16”
Waist to hem 26.5”
Presents excellently. General light fade but even, and fabric a little more worn to upper back of bodice, where there is mild discolouration to a greener hue, not super noticeable. There are some mends to damage at the front underarm of one side, where splits in the fabric have been reverse-patched (backed) with matching fabric to secure. This is actually not seen at all when worn as the print has masked it perfectly- see pic.
