1930s Smocked rayon blouse - Small Medium

A glorious circa 1930s blouse in pale ivory rayon, a very loose fit which is ideal for the extreme blouson look when tucked into a waisted garment. The neck and back is detailed with a deep crescent of smocking, all laboriously hand-worked, with raised neckline and glass buttons to fasten. Long sleeves are wide, and gathered to smocked wrists, causing them to billow gracefully. Hems are daintily finished by rolling and whip stitching by hand, a sumptuous piece!

Chest of garment approx 42", meant to be loose here, wrists are fairly narrow so have estimated size at S-M

Excellent condition, a small snag hole to side of one sleeve, and a couple of tiny pinprick holes as indicated to that shoulder also. One underarm area has picked up slightly more creamy hue which the camera had trouble detecting, also the cut is very full here so not noticeable when worn!
