1950s Printed cotton sarong skirt summer dress - Medium Large
A gorgeous late 1950s summer dress in mottled white and pale grey cotton, printed with leaf and paisley shapes in hot pick, orange, purple, and royal blue. The bodice features amazing diagonal asymmetric seam detailing to the bust which I will note that my restoration partner had to reconstruct from actual pieces as the garment came to us damaged (and she did an amazing job)! Side panels are shirred (again, all restored with new elastic) and the skirt features wrap front and tie at hip. Curiously, the dress has built-in knickers so feel free to hang upside-down when wearing. Back metal zip, adjustable button straps.
Hip up to 42”
Mid shoulder to waist 16”
Super condition given aforementioned restoration, there’s a few pale discolourations at front bodice which blend well enough with the print to be lost totally. Minor minor cream tint at one underarm, rust dots to briefs as pictured and repairs to tiny hole damage there also but this is obviously not seen when worn!
