1950s Oleg Cassini silk cocktail dress - Extra X small
A sumptuous 1950s piece from high end Hollywood designer Oleg Cassini, famed for his movie star costuming and later dressing Jackie O. With heavily boned strapless bodice forming dramatic peaked neckline, dipping low to the back and fastening with metal zip. Side panels are in nude overlay, 'laced' with bootlace silk cord and finished with tied bows at waistline. Skirt features deep inverted pleating for fulness, with attached underskirt to hold form (pictured without additional petticoat) which fastens inside the garment with hook/eye on it's separate petersham waistband. A real rarity!
Chest of garment 32" max, with small cup
Waist of garment 24", natural waist will need to be a little under
9.5" bodice length from centrefront to waist
Skirt 24.5" long
Fantastic condition. As pictured there is a tiny mend at one side of the panelling but this isn't noticeable when worn, and bust peaks have the very slightest wear but again not seen on.
