An absolute jewel, late 1930s ivory coloured evening robe in the slinkiest heavy liquid silk satin, fastening with pressed glass buttons to the neck and waist, with interior petersham waistband to hold shape. The chest, back yoke, waist, and cuff is detailed with intensive handworked smocking in pastel blue, yellow, and pink. The full length gathered skirt has deep hem to make it hang beautifully, and french seams finish the interior construction.

14 2/8" between shoulder seams

Chest 34-8" tight

Waist 25", button could be moved to accommodate just 26

Hip up to around 42

15" mid shoulder to hem

Skirt 47"

Presents well, all smocking intact and is clean and fresh. A few tiny snag holes to skirt as pictured, and very faint watermark esque surface change here also as indicated with the arrow. A few tiny holes at shoulders from hangers, if stored conscientiously this won't worsen, and a scrubbed parting of the fabric halfway down one arm as pictured. Collection of small scrubs to lower back fabric, and gentle fraying to edge of one wrist- despite these condition notes it is still the height of vintage luxury and a total rarity!
