1930s Wool tweed tailored skirt suit - Extra small
A wonderful day suit circa late 1930s-early 1940s, in smart tweed check of brown/green/beige, from British tailor F.A. Brackley. Impeccably made, with reinforced collar and beautifully applied hand finishes. Skirt is approximately calf length and slightly a line, lined in the seat with crepe, with metal Lightning zip fastening (favoured by Schiaparelli!) and waist clasps. Jacket is semi fitted, with carved horn button fastening, and high quality rayon crepe lining. With pointed collar, and bracelet length sleeves tapering slightly to hems, the little bound pockets feature embroidered arrow details which is one of my favourite finishes to find!
Skirt waist 26” tight
Hip 39” tight, however should be under this for desired fit
Length 25” not including waistband
15” between shoulder seams
Chest of garment 36” tight
Waist of garment 31
Mid shoulder to hem 21”
Sleeve length 21” from shoulder
Truly excellent condition, I suspect there were originally little shoulder pads which have been removed- the stitching to upper armhole lining is a different shade of brown. Clean and ready to wear!
