1940s Printed rayon crepe wrap dress robe - Medium Large

An eyecatching 1940s wrap dress or housedress in black cool rayon crepe, printed with bold stylised florals in red, and 'branches' in pale blue and pink. The wrap style and elasticated waist causes a blouson bodice, with ruffle neckline and back yoke, and long waist ties making a bow to the back. 3/4 length sleeves, and a good big hip pocket

14" between shoulder seams

Chest fit approx a 36", will accommodate to a 40" depending on bust size

Waist 26-32"

Hip ideally no more than 42" to ensure enough overlap of wrap fabric

Mid shoulder to waist 16.5" 

Skirt 28.5"

This has been altered at some point (not recently) as the elastic in the waist is not original, and the hem has been taken up. The tape channel at the inside back has some age so it could be that this was always elasticated, but the thin elastic that comes round to the front of the garment is a newer addition. Looking inside there are a few areas of damage to hip which have been patched by the fabric backing the pocket, totally covered by this and the pocket so not at all noticeable- just being picky!
