Gorgeous early 1960s faux fur coat in rich brown Courtelle imitating sheared beaver, from ‘Astraka’ a great name in fake furs operating from the 1940s-80s. A loose fit, with wonderful wide collar set back from the neckline a short way, able to be worn dramatically ‘popped’ to keep the chills at bay! Fastening with 3 large carved buttons, the sleeves widen towards he indicating wear with deep cuffs, although can be worn down without looking amiss! Lined in satin, with pockets concealed in the front seams.
Chest of garment 48”, looks fine on as little as 36” chest
Hip 54”
42” mid shoulder to hem
14.5” sleeve length from underarm uncuffed
Approx 21” sleeve length from around shoulder level (no shoulder seams) uncuffed
Excellent condition aside from an area of sleeve hem which has been too close to a heat source by the looks of things, causing this area to change colour as pictured. Not visible if worn with cuffs unfolded.
