1930s Smock folk blouse - Small
Tax included.
A gorgeous 1930s folk style blouse, a little different to the pieces more commonly seen with gathered hems, and in very fine gossamer-silk-feel early nylon which would have been something of a wonder fabric at the time. With neckline entirely hand-smocked in shades of blue, and beautiful embroidery to the chest, it fastens with three buttons to front and features short puffed sleeve with smocked & elasticated hems.
Chest of garment 38”, meant to be worn loose!
Presents very well, we professionally replaced shot elastic in the sleeves, and the piece has been freshly hand washed. There is a thin short dart at one sleeve stitched very neatly by hand to conceal a tiny hole within, it completely blends with the gathers there however and isn’t seen at all when worn. A few v small areas of parting to the fibres as pictured, and a snag to front as pictured, if worn tucked into a waisted garment this would be less noticeable
