1930s Half lens celluloid sun shades
A fabulous and rare 1930s pair of sun shades, with round frames in tortoiseshell effect celluloid, and deep green perspex half-lenses sitting proud of the eye surrounds to shade the eye from overhead light without covering vision. Lovely little old hinges!
Front width across lens frame 4 4/8”
Total front width including hinge bar 5 1/8”
5” between arms at hinges
5 2/8” between arms at ear curves, pulling out to 7”
6” arm length
Great condition, a little adhesive residue along side lines of the perspex which is original to manufacture, one or two light scratches to perspex which doesn’t affect vision and aren’t very noticeable. A thin space between lenses and frame in places, again original and caught in place elsewhere so no wobbling etc. One arm sits a little higher than the other
