1970s Frank Usher maxi dress - Large

A mind-blowing 1970s evening dress in weighty putty coloured tricel crepe, printed with huge stylised motifs and circles in black, graduating in intensity towards the border hem. Honestly one of the best prints I’ve had from this era! With semi fitted bodice and gathered maxi length skirt, the sleeves are long and full, gathered to a deep flat cuff causing them to billow bishop-style. The drama is off the scale! From respected British label Frank Usher, synonymous with quality, it fastens with back zip and is unlined.

Presents very well and is in structurally great condition. There are one or two dark marks as indicated at shoulder, which I’m not sure aren’t actually fabric flaws/dye transfer but the print does help to mask this somewhat. There is a gradual discolouration to skirt, pictured, but the piece has been cleaned and is ready to wear. I suspect the piece has been washed in the past causing the background colour to mute to a more grey tone, but there is no direct bleeding from the black. Mildest discolouration to inner zip tape and back facing, not seen from outer obviously. Such an incredible garment, I feel this is all absolutely acceptable
