A truly lovely late 1930s blouse in black/cream gingham check rustly silk, almost feels like a lightweight fine taffeta with slight sheen, fastening with groupings of button trios to waist and popstuds below. Lots of attention to tailoring details in this piece, with a curved pleat to front and back yoke, and wonderful deep pointed collar and turn back cuffs. Semi fitted, with short length of shirring to back waist, deep armholes, and long sleeves cut to billow slightly then nip in towards cuff. Delicate handworked buttonholes

15" between shoulder seams

Chest should fit around 34"

Waist 31"

Mid shoulder to hem 20.5"

22.5" sleeve length from shoulder

Presents very well, the fabric has a little wear commensurate with age; small hole at shoulder as pictured and the odd pin hole dotted around, masked by the check. Discolouration to the cuff points as seen, however garment has been carefully cleaned and is ready to wear. Pulls to one edge of two buttonholes at chest, which is covered with buttons when worn
