A stunning early 1930s robe in deep green silk, with very pale green-tinted lace edging, set/appliqued into the fabric which is utilised particularly well at the sides in crescents. By 'Lane Bryant', who was an industrious Edwardian migrant to the US and set up her own store on Fifth Ave in 1904; by 1910 she was the leading designer/manufacturer of maternity & plus size clothing, and the brand is still thriving today! A real rarity to find an early piece like this, and would also suit a 1910-1920s wardrobe in style.

Classic wrap tie fastening, and a lovely scalloped hemline.

17.5" between shoulder seams

Chest approx 46" with a little give if ties let out

Waist 44", as above

Hip 52

22.5" sleeve from shoulder

47" mid shoulder to hem

Presents very well, as pictured there is some fade to one lower side which has turned a fetching green shade and is less visible when worn. V small scrubs to one side of chest, and a break in the lace which has been backed with the fabric of the tie there. A period reverse patch mend to the back hem using black fabric, which leads me to believe the piece may have started out as black and changed tone over time (to a much nicer colour!). The odd v small break in the lace and hem stitching, which doesn't affect the overall loveliness of the piece.
